Falcon Aviation was formed to perform as Fixed Base Operator (FBO) and act as Airport Manager at KANQ.

 

The Aviation Board of Steuben County selected Falcon Aviation LLC as FBO and Airport Manager in November of 2009 after sucessfully reponding to the RFP the Aviation Board made public in September 2009.  The contract period is for 5 years with a renewable option.

 

Falcon Aviation LLC is owned by John Kline and his Bio is included below.  We are certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a Part 135 Operator for passenger and freight operations.  At present we have two pilots - John Kline and Randy Miller - both of whom have decades of professional flying experience as Part 121, Part 135, Flight Instruction in single and Multi engine instrument operations.

Company Personnel
 
John Kline has a total of  21593 flight time hours in piston and jet aircraft and was a Part 121 pilot for the airlines before retiring fours ago.  John is a certified flight instructor in single and multi engine aircraft for private, commercial and instrument ratings.  CERTIFICATES HELD:
ATP-FAA, TYPE RATINGS ON THE B767/757, 727, 707/720 AND DC9 - CFI,CFII,MEI. FAA 1st CLASS MEDICAL
John is also the Chief Pilot of Falcon Aviation LLC.

 

Randy Miller has 15 years experience as a Part 135 operator in his own company and with Falcon Aviation.  Randy is a certified flight instructor in single and multi engine aircraft for private, commercial and instrument ratings.

 

Wes Bourne is an airframe & power plant mechanic with Inspection Authorization.  He has more than 15 years of experience in maintenance and repair of Part 135 aircraft.  With more than 10,000 hours of Cessna 310 maintenance experience  Wes is the Chief Mechanic for Falcon Aviation LLC

 

Falcon Aviation LLC also has other part time personnel that are highly experienced in airport management, aircraft operations and maintenance.

KANQ Airport Facilities 
 
The Tristate Steuben County Indiana airport is open every day of the year, except Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day, from 8:00 AM to 5:00PM.  Additional hours are on request.
 
In the winter period, all runways and taxiways are kept free of snow and the runway lights are kept free from snow. 
 
The airport has an ASOS system that is available from the air on 118.175 and can be dialed at 260-668-5630.  The runways have lighting that can be pilot activated on Unicom frequency of 123.07 - 5 clicks medium intensity and 7 clicks High Intensity with end Strobes.  The airport has several approaches and the appropriate approach plates should be consulted for details.
 
Hangar space is available for transient aircraft up to light twin size.  We expect additional facilities to be constructed in the next few years that will accomodate medium sized jet aircraft.
 
Fuel is both Full and Self Service.  During the normal operation hours Full Service is performed unless otherwise specified.  After hours, a credit card system is available for Self Serve.
